Do you love walking and looking for a new walk? Are you keen to explore new natural trails, and green spaces – and you don’t mind a little bit of mud?

This January it’s National Walk Your Dog Month and we’ve selected 2 walks in each of our festival locations. Our fourth location in our ‘Walkies Anyone?’ series is for those in and around Cheshire.

Our 2 walks in Cheshire are:

1. Tegg’s Nose and Macclesfield Forest Circular

This 6.6-kilometer circular trail near Macclesfield, Cheshire is perfect for dogs who like to explore. A little challenging, but worth it for the amazing views of the Cheshire Plains, Macclesfield Forest, and the Peak District.

You’ll start your hike at Tegg’s Nose, a hill with a big rocky outcrop that looks like a nose. From there, you’ll follow the trail through the forest, past a quarry and a reservoir. You and your dog will see all sorts of interesting things along the way, like birds, fish, and even deer!

Dress warmly and wear good boots because the trail can be muddy.

2. The Roaches and Lud’s Church Circular

This is a beautiful and exciting walk. The trail takes you through some of the most stunning scenery in the Peak District National Park, with towering rocks, lush forests, and sweeping views. You’ll also have the chance to visit some fascinating historic sites, such as Lud’s Church, a mysterious rock formation that is said to have been used by Robin Hood and Friar Tuck as a hiding place.

The walk is challenging in places, with some rocky scrambling involved. But there are plenty of opportunities to rest and enjoy the scenery. And the lots of sniffing opportunities for your doggo.
