Have you spent too much time indoors this winter? Maybe it’s time for the great outdoors! Think of all those beneficial bacterias and microorganisms that strengthen our immune system, making us less likely to fall ill and more likely to feel a spring in our step. And there’s the added benefit that a little walkies will make our beloved dogs like us even more, that’s if they join us on the stroll!
Being January it’s still National Walk Your Dog Month. And this month we’ve selected 2 walks in each of our festival locations. Our sixth location in our ‘Walkies Anyone?’ series is for those in and around Yorkshire.
Our 2 Top Walks in Yorkshire are:
1. Staithes & Port Mulgrave
A seaside walk with your furry friend, this walk is about 4 miles long.
Start off in the seaside village of Staithes and follow the narrow-cobbled lanes up the hill. Some of them are quite steep!
This puts you on the Cleveland Way National Trail, which is one of the best dog walks in North Yorkshire. You’ll be walking parallel to the coast, so you can see the sea all the way to Port Mulgrave.
When you reach Port Mulgrave, you can stop for a drink and a bite to eat at the Badger Hounds inn, dog-friendly of course!
2. Knaresborough, the Nidd Gorge and Old Bilton
If you and your furry friend are looking for an exciting adventure, this 6 mile walk is the perfect choice. A great way to explore the beautiful countryside of North Yorkshire.
Along the way, you’ll pass through the town of Knaresborough and the grounds of Conyngham Hall. There will be plenty of opportunities to stop and admire the amazing views, and your dog will have plenty of space to run and play.
